After Archit Bhargava statement that this summer will become legendary, no one doubted that the next huge event will be dedicated to the Legendary pokemons. That’s why we were so surprised when rumors about the upcoming Ice-Fire event spread across the internet. Seems like Niantic wanted to impress us with one more event before the long-waited Legendaries, perhaps on their birthday?
Rumors, Team Eevolution
Rumours started to spread after Team Eevolution published their post about a future Fire-Ice event. Should we believe their statement or is it another click-bait move? As far as we know, we can fully trust this leak since Team Eevolution have proved themselves as a reputable resource. They were first to leak other events in the past like Gen 2, the Easter event and the Water Festival, long before Niantic officially declared those events.
The Event
If the rumors come true, this event will start at 1:00 P.M. PDT on June 13 and finish on 1:00 P.M. PDT on June 20, 2017, this means that we'll have one week full of ice and fire! Trainers already started discussions about rare fire and ice pokemons that could become available soon. We have another chance at catching Lapras, Growlithe, Charmander, Houndour and many other ice and fire type pokemons.
Event bonuses
According to the source, these are bonuses that you could get during the fire-ice event:
- Ice-Fire pokemon spawns
- XP bonuses for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws, as well as Curveballs and First Throws
- More XP for hatching Eggs
- Lucky Eggs will be 50% off
Pokemons that need attention
There is one pokemon that we don’t expect to see during this event. The ice type pokemon – Delibird. It is commonly believed that this pokemon lives only in Antarctica and won’t appear in other areas, we believe that it will miss from the event since we haven't seen region locked pokemons in previous events.
We would like to advise you to save more candies for Magmar, Sneasel and Swinub as these pokemons have evolutions in the 4-th generation:
Magmar -> Magmortar
Sneasel -> Weavile
Swinub -> Piloswine -> Mamoswine
Of course you already know about Lapras and Cloyster, if you see one, you're in luck, they are great attackers against Dragonite.
