Pokemon Go Fest Chicago: Details and facts

On June 8 Niantic announced their first ever real-world Pokémon GO event: Pokémon GO Fest Chicago. The event should take place in downtown Chicago, Illinois, USA on July 22, 2017 and it is commemorated with Celebrating the First Anniversary of Pokémon GO. It will continue from 10 A.M to 07 P.M.

This event will take place in downtown Chicago, Illinois, USA at the beautiful Grant Park on July 22, 2017. Join us as we celebrate the Pokémon GO community with a ton of exciting festivities.

On June 19 Niantic published information that Pokémon GO Fest Chicago Tickets are now on sale. The same day they went over the details of the future event. Let’s see what benefits the trainers could get from the Chicago event.

Enjoy Pokemon GO Fest Around the World

According to the Niantic post, if you couldn’t get #PokemonGOFest tickets, you will be able to participate in Pokémon GO Fest together with Trainers around the world in different way. Now nobody knows how another trainers could participate, but we hope to find this info on Niantic’s social channels soon.

Increased Pokémon Encounters

If you are the participant of the Pokémon GO Fest Chicago, you have good chances to catch a wide variety of Pokémon, incliuding rare species. This is a good chance to fill your Pokédex faster.

Challenges and Rewards

The Chicago fest trainers could expect some special challenges and rewards that will be available only during the fest.

Work together with thousands of Trainers in the park and millions around the world to complete challenges throughout the day and unlock amazing in-game rewards globally. More details about these challenges and rewards will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Exclusive In-App Medal

If one of your first gaming goals is earning the medals, this is a great chance to get some. Niantic promises the possibility to get some exclusive In-app medals that you can add to your profile page.

Special PokéStops

Pokémon GO Fest pokestops could give you special bonuses. For example, only in Grant Park during the event you will be getting special 2km Eggs. We assume that hathcing these eggs you could get very strong pokemons.

Team Lounges

If you are tired or need to recharge you can take a rest in one of the three team lounges that are divided into three types: Instinct, Mystic and Valor.

Sprint and Boost Mobile Rewards

Sprint and Boost Mobile customers could get access to Pokémon GO Fest Chicago one hour early, starting at 9 A.M.  Furthermore ALL TRAINERS are invited to visit the Sprint and Boost Mobile PokéStops at the Fest to get some exclusive Pokémon GO Level Up Patches and a FREE code for special game items.

Host Hotels

Trainers who stay at these hotels, will also have access to Pokémon GO Fest Chicago one hour early, starting at 9 A.M.

Pokémon GO Fest Chicago interesting facts

• It is expected that Pokémon GO Fest Chicago will accommodate up to 20,000 gamers. (Just imagine that the cell networks will have to cope with 20,000 gamers connected simultaneously!)
• There probably will be beer sales at the event. There are good chances you'll be able to enjoy a cold one while catching Heracross.
  Notice: outside alcohol of any kind will be prohibited!
• Reaction to Pokémon GO Fest Chicago is overhelming - tickets to the event sold out within minutes.
